Things to Consider in a Firearm (Part2)
Welcome to The Firearms Creed, we left off on choosing your build/weapons platform and gave some examples of reasons you are looking for a new firearm, not that you need one, but I think the next good example would be if you were trying to choose an all-purpose go to war rifle. this is something beyond just a sidearm it means a firearm that you are choosing to be your primary go to rifle for any survival, home defense, or SHTF situations. For this reason, there’s many things to take into consideration. (1) I would think about your geographical location, are you in the city or out in the woods, realistically what are your engagement distances, this is something that could also change depending on the situation like if you are going to be leaving the city and getting somewhere more remote. You may want something that is easy to maneuver but can also reach out to some distance. (2) wildlife would be something else to take into consideration, although you may have many guns to choose from, it is also reassuring to know that you have a rifle that is well rounded and can handle any situation you throw at it, if you live in bear country you may feel better having a rifle chambered in 308 opposed to 556. Although you have to take into consideration weight and ammo availability. you don’t want a caliber that is obsolete, i would try and stick to military rounds that are made in surplus, unless you have the knowledge and ability to reload your own ammunition. These are just a few examples of things you should take into consideration while choosing or building a go to war rifle. if there’s enough interest in this topic we can delve deeper into this topic in the future. Please give your feedback and engage in the discussion board. this is a place for us gun guys to have these conversations and we want to hear everyone’s opinions and thoughts on these topics.
