Welcome to The Firearms Creed! Today, we continue our discussion on building your own AR.

The next step is choosing your bolt carrier group (BCG), which is an essential part of your rifle. You definitely don't want to skimp on this component, as it acts as the heart of your rifle, pumping rounds out and back into your rifle. It's crucial to do thorough research and ensure that the BCG you purchase is made from the proper materials and has undergone rigorous testing. Opt for a reliable brand that emphasizes quality control, as it directly impacts the reliability of your rifle.

Another key component for a long-lasting rifle is a high-quality barrel. The difference in barrel quality can have a significant impact. A good barrel should last you around 20,000 to 25,000 rounds. Cold hammer forged chrome-lined barrels are generally considered the gold standard for quality, but there are also precision barrels available that prioritize accuracy and weight over longevity. While these options have their merits, if your goal is to build a rifle that will last a lifetime, it's best to prioritize longevity.

Thanks, we will see you next time!
